PHILOSOPHY OF MINISTRY |
| A.) Every member is a minister as called
by God. |
1. The church is most effective and
people are fulfilled when they know, understand and utilize their spiritual
gifts. 2. The staff's job is to train, enable, empower and motivate people
to be in ministry. |
B.) Prayer is the foundation of our
work/faith |
1. To do God's work requires us to
communicate with God. 2. We begin and proceed in all things with
prayer. 3. The church is responsible for modeling and teaching people to
pray. |
C.) We are led by God as revealed in
the Old and New Testaments. |
1. We direct members to scripture for
guidance in their lives today. 2. Through Christian education, small group
studies and worship the church instructs members to know and apply the Bible to
their lives. |
D.) We acknowledge the value of every
person as a child of God. |
1. As God's church we welcome all into
the church family while inviting them to Biblical compliance, and helping
them to grow in their relationship with God. 2. We conduct outreach and
mission work as an expression of God's love. |
E.) The family is an expression of God's
love upon which the church's future depends. |
1. Because the family, particularly the
young family, is under attack in our society, the church offers ministry help
with parenting and marriage. |
F.) Being in Christian relationships of
accountability and nurture is key to our spiritual |
1. We believe lives are transformed best
in small groups. 2. Through relationships, we invest ourselves in the lives
of others and seek to be mentored ourselves. |
G.) We are called to make more and better
disciples. |
1. Every member needs to strategically
use his/her relationships to bring people to a closer relationship to Jesus
Christ. 2. The Church provides ministries to give people an opportunity to
come in contact with the undisciplined and disciple them. |
H.) Worship is the gathering of the
church to celebrate and glorify our God. |
1. The community of the church at worship
should be attended regularly for a personal and spiritual growth and
corporate celebration.
I.) We must bring the gospel to people
where they are. |
1. The Church's ministry and it's worship
must be biblically sound, while being culturally relevant. 2. We encourage
people to continually find new ways to bring the gospel to an unchurched
society. |
